Memorial Day 2005
What a great way to
spend 5 days.
Sun, Angel Island, Great boat friends, Beer, Music, and no cell reception (just
in case you were one of the many calls we ignored)
After looking at the Angel Island web cam and seeing the place was empty Karen, Luke and I leisurely headed over.
There was only one other boat in the anchorage and we had no trouble getting the best spot in the place.
A few hours later Barry and Ann arrived and we just took in the piece and quiet. But that was soon to end.
A shot of the docks and anchorage Thursday night. And the fog rolling in the Gate.. It didn't make it to us.
The next morning Mike arrives on No Worries. And then I see trouble standing on the dock.
Jeff and Mike doing some dinking. Jeff planning the next meal.
Nice day on shore , still very few boats. Just the three of us.
We found a dead shark behind the rocks on our way around the Island. Brandon and Ashley taking in the view.
Full house aboard No Worries. Who is this Rock Star?
Wally on Stella Blue joins the raft up. Wally breaks out the new dink.
The next to arrive is Mystic Lady. Joining Carl and Shawna were their stowaways Steve and Anna and Maggie the dog....
Shawna and Anna Carl, Shawna and Maggie.
And the raft up continued to grow. Mike and Brandon checking something out....
Hey what's this a guitar? Man could Tim play..... Luke taking a break with Wally.
And of course with beer and margaritas comes music and food.
Wally's wings were a big hit, We had heard about them for years and now we ate about 100 of them in one sitting.
More dinking.... More SUN...
And kayaking
On Sunday the kids had to leave. They wore Luke and I out...
Patty and Diane stopped by on their way back from Monterey and the raft up continued to grow.
Wendy and Lauren joined us on Sunday and we kept eating...
And eating
Here was our garbage the next day....
With all that eating we walked the Island 3 times
Karen made us commemorative shirts
View from the top
and the side
Have you ever been to the lake on the Island? It is well hidden.
It was a easy ride home. I can't wait for next weekend....
NOTE from
the Captain:
OK that's how I saw it. Now
lets see Steve Hall's version of the same weekend.

You know we haven't had a rules of the road test question in a while:
Here we go, "Right of Way, Crossing situation" Who
was the Right of way?
You are pulling into the anchorage at a speed of 3 knots. A small current is on
your bow.
As you approach the ball you see this coming right at you. Who has the Right of
Way?
Hint: You are two
weeks into deer season.
The Deer do you idiot, it's a state park... (oh I just figured you knew we were
at Angel Island)
One short blast on the horn is also recommended.
