Jeff's Excellent Marlin Fishing Adventure
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Several racing
teams take a break for the winter and decide to torment all
the fish down in Mexico. Jeff, John Ball, Mike Jordan, Scott and Rick
all arrived in Puerto Vallarta on Jan 12, 2006 and headed to Paradise Village
where John Ball keeps his little fishing boat.
The Vessel
The Hi-Ball, Westport 110'
The damn thing is so big you cant even fit the entire boat in a single picture.
The Second deck has the hard-bottom skiff and 2 jet skis. Unfortunately,
Jeff was banned from observing this
level due to Jeff's fabled "Jet Ski Incident" (click
here for that story) but I did sneak these pics.
Nav Station and full wet bar in the cockpit.
The Galley is fit for a king.
The Dining Room; Looking from the dining room to the Aft
Solon.
Full Wet Bar looking into the living room. We spent most of our time here.
The vessel has 5 state rooms and 5 bathrooms. Master has Dual
Vanity and bathtub.
This came in very handy.
Now, on to the business end of the boat.
Twin Cat 1200 hp turbo diesel engines. Perfect for those
delicate harbor cruises.
Tripple Racor fuel filters on both engines.
Twin 15,000 watt generators. Perfect for blended drinks out on the bay.
Rear lazarette has multiple air-conditioners (one for each room) and
a water
maker that makes 120 gallons per day. Laundry is no problem on this
boat...
The aft "cocktail" deck.
Ok, enough of the Hi-Ball "equipment".
We now know we can
probably fish from this boat and perhaps catch something BIG. Really Big!
