But first a few other events that happened first. Karen, Bill and I take the "Gate Crasher" out to get some salmon.

Bill tells me we are just going to the gas dock and out for a quick spin, he even lets me drive so I won't know anything is up.

Next thing I know we are out the Gate and heading north.

Picture of Bill and Karen with their catches.
I must admit, there is nothing like fresh salmon that is only hours old on the BBQ.

News Update: Remember that noisy rattle in the  muffler I would never fix?
On the way back from the delta it started to drip and here is a picture of the new one.

We also had a problem sucking up sand and clogging the raw water strainer, that happens a lot with a boat
this size in the Delta when you draw 6.5 feet.  That also won't be a problem anymore either.
All this work done by one of the best, Marty Chin at Bay Marine Diesel (510) 435-8870
Vist his web site at http://home.earthlink.net/~baymarinediesel/index.html

Marty finished the work just in time for our day sail with Ken and Jamie Gold.

It was a little colder than we expected but a good trip was had by all.

I think Ken went home and purchased a boat, I couldn't get the grin off of his face....

So on with the main event.... Labor Day 2002

This is like one of the last weekends of summer. I can't believe it's over already.

And as we do almost every year we head out to Angel Island for one more trip.

Abacus, Bushwacker and Alyena. Alyena is owned by Marty and Nicole and their daughter Natasha

Front shot of the raft up. We went for a hike on the island. Karen and Ann loved this quilt.

This shot reminded me of a past walk I was on with Barry.    A birds eye view of the harbor. Nice weather...

What a day!

Barry in the church, he looks uncomfortable. It was so flat on the water we went over to Tiburon in the dink.

Next stop Europe.....
